What participants say about Susie's iPad courses:

I loved this class.  It was presented in such a way that I was comfortable choosing which of the many apps you presented that interested me, and could go into as much depth as I wanted to or had time for.  You responded quickly to questions so I didn’t get “stuck”.  Your research provided a great selection of apps to choose from for a variety of different artists with different interests, goals, and skill levels.  The preview information and activities were very helpful to me and laid the groundwork for me to successfully understand how this internet class worked.  Thank you!

Ree Nancarrow, Alaska

It's been a real pleasure learning about these things, and rethinking some of my definitions about art-making!  I so appreciate all the time and efforts on your part to put this together, and I'm so glad I took a plunge and decided to sign up with something I knew nothing about!  I will definitely be repeating the class

Joan Diamond, New Jersey

Susie - Many thanks for a terrific class!  Going through the myriad and plethora of apps has been a bit like drinking from a fire hose, having an idea of what's available has been very useful.  Some of the concepts learned from the apps, such as layering, have already given me insights about how to use Photoshop Elements better.

Elizabeth Byrom, Ambroise, France I

really enjoyed the interaction with the other students.  It is very helpful to see their work and what apps they are comfortable with. There were a few apps I never tried as I was trying to concentrate on Procreate, pixlr and Megaphoto.  Those were my favorites. I hope to go back to them and see what I was missing. Continuing on with the text course and possibly the collage one.

Add text to fabric with a variety of fun and useful tools that take you into the world of art quilts and other mixed media work. Start with paper collage (using magazine and newspaper text and hand-cut letter forms). Make cut letter stamps and an eraser alphabet to further personalize your work. Learn to use digital tools, print-at-home solutions and working with print-on-demand sites. You’ll use type in creative ways, from readable to abstracted, from narrative storytelling on cloth to abstract uses of letterforms. Course includes text, PDF handouts and video tutorials.

This course covers the basics of using text on your art quilts or other textile projects. — For APPLE iPad basic instructions, links will take you to Apple’s excellent tutorials and guides. This course is five active weeks and modules, with a pause week 4 :
